Spirituality Beyond Religions The moment life began on Earth; the cycle of evolution was initiated.  It culminated in evolution of the human beings with inquisitive mind.  Human mind was bestowed with the ability to think beyond itself and to search for the root of existence of not only itself, but also of the whole perceptible universe.  With this search was born spirituality that lifted human beings beyond their limited existence. As the human beings made material progress, there was simultaneous development of the consciousness at different levels.  The quest of human mind culminated in realization that the creator of this universe, of which it constitutes a very minute fraction, is to be found within oneself. The polytheist faiths like Hindu realized that the individual soul is the part of the universal soul, “tat twam asi”.  Christ proclaimed of the kingdom of God within human heart.  The spiritual experiences of humanity transcend beyond the limitations of space & time. They are unique and universal, being realization of the ultimate Truth and the same divinity that is embodied in everybody.  For human beings, spirituality existed even before it was codified it in the audio- visual forms.  The icon and the books came much later.
